Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, for the safety and health of our staff, clients, and other guests, and due to mandates from public health authorities; we are making changes to our programs and services, and access to our facilities.

Our lobby is closed to the general public until further notice, and everyone is asked to not congregate or loiter outside of our offices.

Programs & Services:

PLEASE NOTE: For the health and safety of staff and clients, in-person appointments are only available if sufficient social-distancing can be maintained (2 metres). If you have been traveling anywhere outside of Canada within the last 14 days, have been in close contact with someone who has traveled outside of Canada within the last 14 days, or you have been in contact with someone who has or may have contracted COVID-19, you must self-isolate for 14 days before you access any services in-person. If you present any symptoms of COVID-19, you cannot access any services in-person. There are no exceptions to these requirements.

At this time, workers cannot provide transportation for clients.

Mental Health: individual appointments available on-line or via telephone; in-person appointments are only conducted if sufficient social-distancing can be maintained–your worker will keep in touch with you regarding services. In-person group activities are cancelled until further notice, however some group sessions will be conducted on-line or via telephone–check this link for more information: Mental Health Groups On-Line.

Addictions Counselling: individual appointments are available via telephone; in-person appointments are only conducted if sufficient social distancing can be maintained.

Outreach Services: individual in-person appointments are only available outside of the office when sufficient social-distancing can be maintained.

Disability Tax Advocacy: services are available, and documents can be dropped off and picked up at the main office. Please be in touch with the Disability Tax Advocate in advance to arrange services.

Family Law & Poverty Law Advocacy: services are available via telephone. Please note that the courthouse is closed, so limited services for Family Law will be available. Please contact the Advocates to arrange services. In-person appointments are not available for Family Law; for Poverty Law, please contact the Advocate in advance, and in-person appointments will only be available if sufficient social-distancing can be maintained.

Family Support, CAP-C, ASCD, and AIDP: workers will keep in contact with current clients to assess and meet any needs families may have on an individual basis. Activities at the Friendship Centre are cancelled until further notice.

Elder Programming: current clients will be contacted regularly to assess and ensure that their needs are met. No activities will be available at the Friendship Centre, and no in-person appointments are available until further notice.

Saturday Outreach Breakfast: available on Saturdays at 8:30 am “to go” only. We are not able to accommodate a sit-down meal at this time. Social distancing must be maintained at all times.

Cancelled Activities & Programs:

All group activities are cancelled until further notice.
