Language Instruction for New Canadians (LINC)

The Ki-Low-Na Friendship Society is unique in Canada as the only Indigenous organization providing services to immigrants. We operate four English language instruction classes at eight levels to help immigrants to settle in Canada. LINC classes help students speak and understand English for day-to-day life, get job skills, learn about Canadian life, Indigenous cultures, laws, health care, and to obtain their language requirements for citizenship. The program includes volunteering in the community, and field-trips within the Okanagan Valley.

To access this program, please contact the Friendship Centre for an appointment. Appointments are available from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm Monday – Friday.

PLEASE NOTE: During the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, LINC classes are being conducted at a reduced capacity, with safety protocols in place.

Funding for this program is provided by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada and the Province of British Columbia.
