The Ki-Low-Na Friendship Society, in partnership with BC Housing, Aboriginal Housing Management Association, and the City of Kelowna, operates i spa-us ki-low-na Heart of Kelowna, an 86-unit affordable housing project in the Central Green neighbourhood. i spa-us ki-low-na is an nsyilxcən term that means ‘heart of Kelowna’. Nsyilxcən is the language of the Syilx people, the original inhabitants of the Okanagan Valley.

Please note that as this is affordable rental housing. All tenancies are governed by the BC Residential Tenancy Act and regulations. Tenants are responsible for the timely payment of the full rental amount each month. 

  • Studio/bachelor (360 sq. ft.): $1400.00/month
  • 1 bedroom (563-618 sq. ft.): $1650.00/month*
  • 2 bedroom (702-714 sq. ft.): $2000.00/month
  • 3 bedroom (936-948 sq. ft.): $2700.00/month

Rent does not include utilities.

*Wheelchair-accessible one-bedroom suites are 748 sq. ft.

Other Fees:

  • Parking: $20.00/month*
  • Laundry: pre-paid, re-loadable cash cardº
  • Bicycle storage units: free‡
  • Deposit: 1/2 month’s rent

*Parking is not available for each suite.
ºOne, two, and three-bedroom suites have laundry hook-ups that can accommodate tenant-provided stackable laundry equipment.
‡Bicycle storage units not allocated to specific suites will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Some Other Details:

  • Four fully wheelchair-accessible suites are available.
  • All eight studio/bachelor suites can be connected to adjacent one-bedroom suites to create a shared living space.
  • Laundry hook-ups are available in all one, two, and three-bedroom suites that will accommodate stackable laundry equipment.
  • Parking is not allocated to each suite–it is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Tenancy agreements are month-to-month, and all tenancies are subject to the B.C. Residential Tenancy Act and regulations.
  • Pets (of any kind) are not permitted (this includes ‘service’ or ‘comfort’ animals), except certified guide animals as provided for in the B.C. Guide Animal Act and regulations.
  • Barbeques are not permitted in suites or on balconies–barbeques for tenants’ use will be provided in the outside common area.
  • Due to LEED certification and insurance requirements, smoking is not permitted in suites, on balconies, or in any common areas.
